| Originally from New Orleans, the Rev. Paree Porter,
L.J.’s grandfather had her singing in a gospel choir at the age of three. Ms. Porter
has been wailing for over 39 years. While attending Cornish Music Institute in Seattle,she
was featured in many musical comedies. Ms. Porter was a dance instructor for a few years
and then went on tour with one of her many bands, which has kept her quite busy over the
years. Currently she has just released her new CD "BLUE" nationally and will
soon be touring with her band the Vampin' Ho's to start promoting the new project which is
getting some nice label attention. Ms. Porter has appeared with B.B. King, Bo Didley, Booker T and the MG’s, Elvin Bishop, Canned Heat, Charlie Musselwhite, Dorothy Moore, Roomful of Blues, Mary Wells,Staple Singers, Candye Kane, Kenny G, Roy Orbison, to name a few. |
